The listing is a presale, I am guessing that they got the picture off the NGC website. I believe you can view the coins on the NGC website once they are graded but before they ship them back. Plus it's only ms 67, they seem to list the lower grades first as they get better prices for them, Once the 68 and 69 grades are listed, the price of 67's goes down.

DaveinFLA: Valid questions... ...since it's a FDI (not ER) it was bulk submitted by a dealer which means at lease 100 coins (each denomination since NGC requires the full set to be graded) ...the pics of this coin on the NGC site are MUCH clearer than the one in the auction and it's appearance (auction) seems to be an in hand weak pic. Also the NGC pics are copyrighted but I had no problem with the pic copy ...he has sold 3 and has 3 more available ...NGC pop in this grade is only 4 (with 30 in higher grades) so I guess he got 6 of the 4 graded or the pop report is lagging..I vote lagging

Thanks to everyone who replied. Good info to know. I'm still learning. This grading stuff can be very confusing!

I will admit the coins from my two sets look great...
..also, TOTAL number of 2019 D MS cents graded is only 76 (all grades) so I will go out on a limb and say the number of PL's might increase.
Still..interesting to see what it sells for

For sure Foxwoods Man, it will increase. They are similar to the PL Kennedy in the rocket set. New dies, special handling and I bet there are plenty of 68/69 grades. Always seems to be the way with the mint, when you least expect it they include something special.

Note:
..These are asking prices...not completed sales..not an auction so no clue of interest
..(Dime) only 40 graded so far.. 69 (2), 68 (4), 67 (34) ..(Nickel) only 33 graded.. 68 (4) 67 (29)
Not a significant sample to claim that price
..and not a label (FDI) that the normal collector can get
Check back in a few months
Coins in the set are decent quality but I don't think the raw sets will end up having any great value and I can't see them selling out. Released five weeks ago and hasn't hit 13k yet (of 50k)

The price will come down as more are graded and the dealers are just testing the market right now.
But you miss the point, just look at the rocket ship set which only had one Kennedy PL, these sets have the dime, nickel and cent. Plus the set is only $20, for that price you can't lose and stand to gain considerably.

Sorry..you are absolutely correct with the 19k number. I saw the last issue on the Mint report (usually the most recent) said "Discovery" and went with it...but it was the 2014 set that's still weirdly on sale
Don't get me wrong. I think the coins in the set are of great quality BUT not multi-thousand dollar great
Raw sets are a totally different beast....
..and most dealers are into the special labels (First Strike, Early Release etc) and that time has expired
Edit: Remember, like the weirdly still available 2014 Discovery set these potentially can be on sale for years
The $20 price is a great point. They are supposed to be for kids after all.....not much to lose but definitely not an "all in" item

The last time I saw something like this was the 2014 coin and currency set, they were $14 and they took a while before they were noticed. They sold out fast once they noticed the special Sac. I speculated a little on that, easy $50-$60 a set and gone within a week. But wished I had gone all in lol. 69/70 PL grades of these will sell for big $$$, registry quality. If you read the listing it says "We believe that this is the first MS69FB PL Roosevelt dime ever graded at PCGS." that's a big deal. The chance of such a high grade should push this set much higher than the sale price.

Not to keep this going but.... ..the last sale of the 2014 C & C set went for $7.96 on 4/27 https://www.ebay.com/itm/2014-Nativ...AOSw57ZcqhBBNote: I DID buy a bunch of those and had the slabbed. Not a positive event for me ..and, yes, the high grades of these (2019) will sell for decent cash BUT it won't be Joe Normal that gets them. No way a normal collector can afford to grade multiple six coin low cost coins sets and, except for unopened shipping boxes (PCGS)ordered weeks ago the special label (FS) is toast. Good luck...not on my radar but that's just my opinion. I do appreciate this discussion...great to know other opinions Now...if you were talking the 2018 light finish Kennedy I would be all smiles. I went total all in on those....
