Quote:Yup . and if you contemplating the APMEX deal, then I would call them rather than email them. Once the HH limits come off, I suspect that APMEX's offer will end as well APMEX has ended their offer to buy these sets. It didn't take until the HH limit was lifted. It only took 2 1/2 hours. They sent this out awhile ago Quote: NO LONGER PURCHASING SETS Again, thank you for your interest in securing the new Pride of Two Nations sets from the U.S. Mint for us. As of 2:30 p.m. (ET), we have met the quantity limit needed and will not be purchasing any more sets. Any U.S. Mint order confirmation number above USM06838174 will not be accepted. If you have not yet purchased sets to sell back to APMEX, please do not as we will be unable to purchase them. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us at (800) 514-4958.

Quote: wild guess but I'm saying there are 20k sets left So the question is will that 20K sell out as fast as the first 80K or has the demand been met. I'm thinking a bit of a mix

30k orders is decent even considering the non-CDN/US sets that might have been ordered...I'm sure the big boys and their friends all went with 5 per.

Well, from APMEX's email it looks like around 38K were sold in first 2 1/2 hours. The "gotta have one" folks are probably in that initial rush of orders, so to me it's looking like around 50k at most of first days sales. Still looks like a sell out to me, but it's going to take awhile. Maybe a couple of weeks

Orders are definitely slowing.
38k in the first 2 1/2 hours. 3k in the next 2 hours.

So maybe average about 2 per order. For every five orders that's 1@5, 1@2, and 3@1. So 41k orders is maybe 75k sets to go a little light.
I think you get a smaller run over the next day from people who couldn't today due to work and other commitments then the balance over the next week or so. If they had only done 50k they would be sold out

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't disappointed that this wasn't a 30-minute sell-out, but no matter how you slice it this is going to be at least a semi-key ASE with the max mintage of 110k. So at this point if it doesn't sell out, I'm slightly happier than if it does. It will be interesting to see prices on ebay in the next week to determine whether it's worth unloading one of my sets. And.... at the VERY least, it's been fun trading guesses and insights in this thread, and I always enjoy the anticipation leading up to a hot product launch. I'm the kind of collector where the thrill of the hunt is every bit as important as curating my collection.

Don't always turn out profitable but it's still fun.. Still like the APMEX PCGS FS RCM 70's at $279 though....can't see how those will fail....but...
