Quote: When is the US Mint expected to begin shipping these sets is we order on July 3? Typically they begin shipping on the same day they begin sales. Quote: This info was on the same page note the last line - "Serialized" ( does this mean numbered?) That's something in the packaging such as the certificate of authenticity. The Royal Mint does it as well. It doesn't impact value so far as I've ever seen. Perhaps if you get set 7777 it might be worth a bit more.

Isn't this a better comparison than a burnished 2018 ASE? Plus, IMHO it's still unclear about the mintage being 110,000. The US Mint's website indicates product and mintage limits of 100,000. If the RCM gets 10,000 to sell, then I'm still not sure that it isn't part of the 100,000. I guess we'll only know for sure once sales are completed

The 70 premium will all depend on how well they grade. The 2012 set actually graded out significantly lower than expected while the mint to demand 2013 set graded extremely well and was dead in the water from day one. 100k sounds better than 110k but practically speaking it won't make much if any difference regardless of either number as long as they keep it unique to that set.

The email I received today totally left out the mintage number and just said a product limit of 100k.... ..and: https://news.coinupdate.com/histori...e-on-july-3/..and this is now on the Mint website: Quote: Mintage of this historic set has been set at 110,000 units. Orders will be limited to five units per household for the first 48 hours of sales, after which the Mint will remove the limit. https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-r...le-on-july-3So forget the 100k limit.... ..and...at a start price of $139 if grading only the ASE your out of pocket total will be very close to $200 and, yes, you will have an interesting Canadian silver coin left over Without the Canadian coin I would be all over this issue because the price entry point would be lower but at $139 I can't see it as a long term winner. BUT I do see it as a great set for COLLECTORS...maybe one from each country...but not a set for long term value I should add...it WILL be a reasonably quick sell out

Quote: So forget the 100k limit.... If I read that correctly the limit being removed isn't the 110K but the 5 per household. The thinking is if they haven't sold out in a few days why limit orders

Apparently both the US Mint and The Royal Canadian Mint have the same household limit. So, you could probably get Ten sets (five from each mint) in the first 48 hours. After 48 hours you can order as many as you can locate.

I totally understand the HH limit which is common practice for high interest coins/sets and is usually lifted after 24-48 hours. For this set it has always been 5 per HH for the first 48 hours...no change Quote: So forget the 100k limit.... That statement is referring to the ASE mintage limit which was originally stated to be 100k and now has been corrected by the Mint to be 110k...100k for the US Mint and 10k for Canada

The set is now up for sale on the Royal Canadian Mint website, and it has an exclusive packaging which in my opinion looks nicer than the american version. I decided to buy this set since it has a 10,000 limit vs. 100,000 limit, and it may be one of the label variants that die-hard collectors who care about these things want to have. Looks nicer and can potentially have more upside, so I decided to get this one after all.

The website currently says 91% have been sold.

Has the US ever issued a proof coin in another countries packaging before like this? I seem to remember a joint packaging with England but I don't remember if it was a proof coin.
I spent some time looking through their offerings what a G$# awful mess. Glow in the dark coins, coins with crystals, john Lennon full color coins. Looks more like the Franklin Mint than the mint of a first world country

The Royal Canadian Mint show that they are 95% SOLD already! Doubter still wonder if these sets will sell out early?
