Quote: I wonder if they have done this before, and if so how the product value changed. The big boys do this on a regular basis for things they think will sell out quickly that have limits. The household limits have never really stopped them from getting what they want. What it does do though is make their aftermarket price even higher than it would have been as they have to pay a middle man as well. Anyone thinking of taking the offer, I would suggest to do it with the USA sets and not the ones from Canada. There is a strong possibility the Canadian sets will be worth more with only 10k of those just like we've seen with the congradulations sets

I've learned that whenever a big dealer is offering cash, it's a good item to buy

Not sure if that's all or not, haven't seen them in hand. That said even if that is all that's different that can be enough, ASEs have a history of showing us packaging matters and what set they came out of matters to the market

The reversal of the coins & graphics and the actual case. At least according to the stock pics on the sites. The CN one, to me, seems nicer. Now factor in the 10k vs the 100k product limit and you may have a winner.

I'm kinda surprised that they didn't sell out the 10k yesterday. Decent opportunity to order the sets earlier than the US but, with shipping on the 19th, they will probably arrive in hand after there US brothers
Edit: sorry..somehow I skipped over the last page of posts and it probably IS toast which makes more sense.

Quote: RCM now states: awaiting stock, available from official dealers. I wonder what this means? It was supposed to be available at multiple places in Canada so I would assume some stock is there. Quote:The coin set is also available at the Royal Canadian Mint's boutiques in Ottawa and Winnipeg, as well as through our global network of dealers and distributors, including participating Canada Post outlets.

If you look closely at the listing on the RCM website, you'll see that it ships Jul22. Hence, the US set may arrive earlier. Gatewestcoins still has it and actually for less than the RCM if you consider the VIP points (instant rebate). They have a limit of 1 and I expect these to be gone pretty soon: http://store.gatewestcoin.com/cgi/v...n=usa&site=1

Just purchased one from Gatewest (before I saw the post). Can't beat it, plus only $5 shipping to the US.

NGC has special labling for these sets How do I get the packaging returned from NGC? Is the packaging valuable if the coins are graded? What does it cost to get packaging returned?

Quote: How do I get the packaging returned from NGC? Just check the box in section 9 on the submission form to return mint packaging Quote: What does it cost to get packaging returned? $5 per submission plus shipping Quote: Is the packaging valuable if the coins are graded? Depends, some folks buying TPG graded coins want the Mint packaging w/ COA, IMHO most do not, BUT I've sold mint packaging to those who do want it on ebay for nominal amounts just to keep it out of my landfill

https://www.usmint.gov/news/press-r...le-on-july-3I posted that press release from the US Mint a couple of days ago confirming the 110k mintage. No "opinions divided" needed anymore... ...and re: return of packaging. For this set the five bucks plus shipping is probably a decent idea. Depending on the set sometimes the slabs will fit perfectly in the OGP and is an added presentation and selling point (2011 Annie Set). If not it can be an added purchase attraction anyway. ...and...NGC has a special label (duh) but the coins can be submitted on one form (World or US) so no need for a world AND a modern form ($$$) ...and..(lots of and's)..if the sets are submitted in unopened shipping boxes from the Mint the country of origin will be on the label..probably a good idea for the Canada sets. You still get the "Pride" label if just the coins are sent in though..just the origin is left out.
