This 2018 D Dime has lines on both sides that look like its traveling through hyper space at light speed.
Is it an error? If so what causes it to look that way.
Is it a rare error because I haven't seen anything on this site or in web searches.
The lines are constantly visible on both sides and the coin is pretty clean.
Does this coin have the potential to be rare and valuable?

Thank you coin community!

I believe that those lines are the result of die flow. Here is a link to a prior CCF thread for comparison:

Die flow lines. Heavy Die Deterioration setting in. This die was very far gone, when it struck your coin.

Rest in Peace

. But I can certainly understand why you would ask.

Wow... thank you for the quick responses.
I looked through all the links and saw one picture that looked like my dime. Due flow is what it looks like but there's some interesting difference. On my 2018 dime the details look like they're well struck and defined. The other is the Die Flow lines do not overlap each other like they do on the example reference coin in the links.

Is it possible to have well defined strikes and flow lines?

The coin looks so cool in the light. Kinda like a reflector baseball card. I've shown it to a few people and they were all very surprised by the way the light hit the coin and curious.
This dime is one of my favorite coins if not number 1 on my list. I'll post a picture of the entire obverse so you know what I mean.

With the constant movement of the metal, in time these develop. Just like no oil in an engine, the motor breaks down. Same on the dies. They are contently moving without lubrication. The dime dimes gets a lot of touch up, polishing away clashes and die flow lines, but the dies really suffer as they age:

The dime definitely looks like it has die flow but there are a few things on my dime that are not consistent with the die flow examples.

The die flow lines are straight and not at all wavy like in other examples.

The dimes details are very defined like it was struck with a die that was not deteriorated or warn down.

The lettering, date, and bust of Roosevelt are sitting on top of the die flow lines. The other examples I've seen have the die flow lines running through the entire coin.

Any thoughts on why this is a bit different ?

I'll send a pic
