I thought about £5 but what on Earth is Alderney I do not know

It's one of the channel islands. (English Channel)Like Jersey and Guernsey. Alderney is actually part of the bailiwick of Guernsey.

British possessions, but have their own parliament. Alderney does not have it's own regular coinage, just the commemorative type.

This is another of those one year non-circulating commemorative coins that most people from Alderney have probably never seen. (Personally I'm not a big fan of commemoratives unless they are issued to be used as actual coinage.)

I think their first coin was in 1989. How old is your krause?

Actually it's 1996 (coins listed in most cases up to 1993/94) but has loose pages.. which I keep tucked away (in case of emergency ). Maybe it's time to check them. Anyway, it is in the new one.
