Even the collection of ancient coins in the British Museum is very far from complete. Why? Each coin is individual. I like that.

I've never collected any coin sets. BUT I may have had every type of error.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

I don't think anyone can actually say a Lincoln Cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, etc. type of set is complete since they are still making them. This would always mean a few more to be added soon. And with the Cents, do you include the 22 plain? The 55,69S,72, etc. Doubled dies? What about all the 2009's? And now with all the different ones lately like those proof and reverse proof ones. And if you do include those, what about all the other varieties? Just no end to some collections.

From my initial post..." Based on my criteria which is all dates/mint marks but no error coins or proofs for most sets, I have completed the following *this is my full set criteria, other people have other conditions to consider a set complete."

I'm working on one right now: Liberty Head Nickels (less 1913 of course). But other than that ..... None.

Franklin halves are complete, and complete up to current are Kennedy halves (P,D, all proof and silver proofs) and N A dollars (P,D, and proofs) Roosevelt dimes and Jefferson nickels are only a few short, mostly Philadelphia coins from the last few years that haven't made it out to the west coast yet. Both of those I'll get from searching change and the occasional roll or two. I've started the Innovation Dollars, P,D, proof and reverse proofs, but I'm not really thrilled with the subject or the designs so far. The jury is out on if I'll continue with it, but I'll give it a couple of years to see if the series grows on me. Edited to add: From circulation the State and Territories quarters, complete, and the ATB Quarters complete up to current except that darn 2011 Vicksburg quarter. I can't find one of those to save my life! I know I could buy them and forget about it, but that would take all the fun out of it.

I have the LMC, the 2009 cents, LCS, Jefferson nickels, Roosevelt dimes, Washington quarters 1932-1998, States quarters, Franklin halves, Ikes, SBA dollars, and Presidential dollars. I'll probably never complete the IHC set, LWC set, Liberty nickels, Mercury dimes, or Walking Liberty half sets unless I hit the lottery. Still searching my change for ATB Quarters.

We will be patient while you acquire that 1916-D if you promise to show it when you get it.

Quote: We will be patient while you acquire that 1916-D if you promise to show it when you get it. It's mostly circulated MHD, I had a lot of dimes as "junk silver", that when I looked at what I had , I could actually get 75% of the MHD set, so I just looked around and picked up what I needed at good prices (including the semi keys) and got the last 2 today. I'll post the pictures on Wednesday .
