The terribly dark toning is probably what got it relegated there, and granted it's a very common issue, but I thought it was still rather a bit too nice to be on its way to the smelter. Congrats and enjoy that awesome feeling along with that really nice classic silver coin! NOTE: I have seen this exact same blackish covering/"toning" many times on GB 3 & 6 pence silver coins from this specific time period. I have not accurately ID'd exactly what it is but I do know that it is atypical but harmlessly inert. Report this Post to the Staff
