Quote: when will we get to 1288 AD? I have a coin ready for that date..... At a minimum, 122 days from now. But I would not expect us to get past 1404 any time soon.

Quote: Is this the one from India or a bonus? It is the coin from India, jbuck. Also, it had my next order of coins as company on the journey, which was unexpected! (AH807, 805, 804, 803)

AFAIK our next gap counting all of @ttkoo's recent acquisitions mentioned so far is 1396 (AH 798), though we're missing a few more 1390s dates after that. At this rate I wouldn't rule out 1288 in the next thread, but I'd be surprised if we get there in this thread, considering that the 7th edition is already well into the 15th century. My own next entry is 1387 and I do hope we get there before this thread ends...

We ready to move back to 1409 AD or better to wait until tomorrow?

Ok here is a 2 Groat from Brabant (Vilvoorde mint) that is datable to 1409 AD. It was attributed as Witte 432.

Quote: I was surprised to see a specific mintage quoted in Numista. Was this common practice of this era? I am also suprised to see a mintage figure and I think it is quite unusual to have that for coins from the 15th century. Here it seems records of the mintage were kept and, not least important, have been preserved. The figure (1,226,416) comes from the Vilvoorde mint master's records and is cited in the standard reference work by De Witte.
