What Happened To My Dateless Nickel? Inquiring Minds Want To Know!

I'm not sure how I acquired my nickel, but it looks like it was run over by a car and it scraped the date off~ I put it in my scrap pile! I saw a post last week of a nickel that looked like mine and had the same kind of scrapes on it~ So I'm posting my pictures to see if I can get some confirmation that this was possibly done at the mint. If not, I'm naming him "road rash"! Report this Post to the Staff

silverwolf Pillar of the Community Canada 3733 Posts	Posted 03/02/2020 7:30 pm looks to me like coins we used to fish out under the belts at the grocery store, the would throw coins on the belt, then the coins would get swept under the belt, and sit down there until maintenance was preformed on the cash register lanes, when they pulled the metal tray off, all the coins showed wear like this.. they sat there with the belts, and metal rollers turning on them for months..
