This has a few clashes that I can't identify. Any help would be appreciated

Ok interesting--does this mean you've looked at an overlay?

I've looked at some overlays and the markings on this quarter dont come close to a regular clash. The eagles head should show the bottom of Washingtons bust (spitting eagle) unless there is a significant rotation. Nothing is lining up with a regular clash. Between the wreath looks like there are the bottom of the eagles feathers rotated 180 degrees. That's my guess. I couldn't come up with anything else other than it being a mule die clash which is less likely than a counterclash

I was thinking Feeder Finger Damage but it doesn't look the same and doesn't explain the possible clashing at the lower area

Thanks for the overlay coop. Do you see what I'm saying about nothing matching up? What do you think it is? I'm guessing that may be a wing good through the eagles head

Looks to me like there was the so-called "spitting eagle," but they polished the die heavily to remove the clash (which is what the lines you're pointing out above the eagle's shoulders would be).

I was just thinking the same thing but the lines by the beak continue through the eagles neck. Polishing should only be in the fields right? Plus the lines are so deep looks like they tried to polish the eagle out of his misery

That swirl through the neck is just weird. It's not the greatest looking coin anyway. Had this one for awhile but wanted to get some thoughts on it. Thanks
