Thanks guys for your contributions to the forum. It recently helped me out. I recently bought out a collection that had been sitting for quite a while in a closet. It had two albums with PVC pages. A Mercury dime set, (minus the 1916-d; and a Walking Liberty half set, with 35 coins. Thanks to the forum, I knew what I was getting into. I soaked every coin in Acetone and replaced the acetone and cleaned the container after every soak. Some of the coins took two baths before the green was gone! I know most of you experienced collectors out there know this as second nature, but for the rest of us, just a quick reminder that if you aren't certain what you are storing your coins in, you are taking a risk that they will be damaged. Every coin in these two albums left a little bit of itself on the holders...If you see the green, get it out!
