Quote: Anyone plan on sending it in to get graded? Also, anyone know if PCGS or NGC are doing a special label? I didn't slab the ERP, I wasn't planning on slabbing this one either. NGC is doing a special label. I don't know about PGCS.

Can you imagine the poor soul who was oblivious to this release and only wanted to pick up the latest ATB Quarter set. They were probably like "WTH's going on here!?!?" Lol

I feel every ones pain and went through the same process. Tried for 20 minutes at home, then gave up and went to work and said to myself "what the heck let's see if I get the 1015 error or those darn bikes and boats"... Had to type in my mailing address and payment info over 10 times..and I don't know how many times to refresh (maybe 30 to 40 or more) But I got the silver... Now one last thing to do and my day will be complete...throw out my bike...

Quote: Just got my shipping e-mail! Man, the Mint was really good to you today! Though it seems logical if you managed to get an AGE you should get shipment confirmation first since they sold out in 7 min. Congrats on the score! Tell us, what are your plans for this beauty?

The website worked great until the button changed to add to bag. Then it went to crap just like yesterday. Adding the 2019-S Enhanced Reverse Proof on the second day last year was no problem with no website issues at all. My guess is that the website is being pounded on by bots. So long as the mint has an e-commerce system that can't handle the volume and/or defend itself from the bots, the crap is going to continue. The right thing to do would be to give priority to loyal customers who purchase the unlimited ASE's. As it is now, it's like trying to get tickets for a concert and having to compete with scalpers who have no interest in going.

Quote: The 2020 End of WWII 75th Anniversary American Eagle One Ounce Gold Proof Coin and the End of World War II 75th Anniversary American Eagle Silver Proof Coin were released for sale at noon ET on November 5. Release of these coins resulted in the highest website traffic we have ever experienced, which greatly exceeded our expected capacity. This high volume caused website instability, and customers encountered error messages and in some cases were unable to purchase their desired product. Due to extremely high demand, the American Eagle Gold Proof Coin became unavailable by 12:07 p.m. We are pleased with the initial demand, but are also in the process of evaluating the various customer concerns and system constraints and/or failures we experienced. We want to assure you that the United States Mint remains committed to providing the highest possible level of customer service, and regret any inconvenience or frustration this buying experience caused. Hahaha "in some cases were unable to purchase their desired product." You gotta love the Mint's sense of humor.

As it is now, it's like trying to get tickets for a concert and having to compete with scalpers who have no interest in going. I tried this morning also. Same thing; no issue until the red button came up then once I clicked "add to cart" had no way of getting to the cart and soon became unavailable. I agree the 2019-S RP ASE brought in the "sneaker bots" and now this will be a problem for future limited releases until the mint finds a way to handle it. Nike at one point used a lottery system for high demand items (I don't know if they still do as I'm not a sneaker head and am speaking of my sole attempt at buying a pair of shoes for my sneaker head brother for Christmas during one of their releases). Basically you place an order, including giving your credit card and they randomly pick which orders to fill after a cutoff time. If I ran the mint (which doesn't mean much), I would allocate a portion of the inventory to a lottery of those in the loyalty program/individuals with a purchase history (I'm flexible with the criteria, but just giving a starting point). Send them an email a week ahead of time and offer them a chance to place a non guaranteed order. If less people bite than what's allocated, all orders are filled and the remainder goes into the general pool. If orders exceed allocation, you randomly pick which of those pre-orders get filled. Then whoever isn't successful can try again during the general public sale. Mint benefits by motivating people to have a history with the Mint which increases sales. Collectors benefit by having a fair shot (and possibly greater shot) at obtaining a limited item that may otherwise be very difficult to obtain fighting through the bots.
