The mint used to have an enrollment period and the would only mint the number of coins that were actually ordered. No idea why they abandoned this system in favor of the current system which seems to favor the large coin dealers. Shows like the Coin Vault will have plenty available in a couple of days at greatly elevated prices. It took me over an hour of trying and countless curses directed at the mint, but I was finally able to order one of the coins. I then held my breath until the order confirmation email arrived.

Quote:@jbuck, IIRC this is your first ASE? If so, congratulations! Hope it was worth the effort! My first solo ASE. I have three others... I have 1992 I bought from a dealer in, well, 1993 and that is in my 7070. I have a 2016-W proof in the Reagan Coin & Chronicles set. Lastly, I have the 2019-W enhanced reverse proof in the Pride of Two Nations set.

Quote: Is everyone's order confirmed? I got the email confirmation about 2 hour after my order was placed? I got mine at 5:48 pm. Feeling better about it. But still nervous for Monday...

I was planning on flipping the AGE, but now I am debating whether to keep it for my young kids since it could be worth more in the future on as a super low mintage coin. I got a coin dealer offer of $6500 but he is saying the price is constantly changing. I see sold sales on ebay of $8-10K. I do not want to sell it on ebay due to the amount and risk there, so looking for local dealers to sell to. I might sit on it and see what prices do.

Just my Two Cents' worth and based on prior, similar releases - if you're in for selling, then now is the best time. Last year's RP ASE is now down to $1,000 (give or take), but was as high as $1,500-1,600 right after release. 1,945 is not that low for a 1 oz gold coin.

Maybe USMint should fix the problem instead of talking about the problem.

Or if you really want to gamble, send....... it to be graded and see what you come back with.

A big issue was having two hot items at the same time. They could have easily had one of the two on Wednesday or Today.

Last year's RP ASE is now down to $1,000 (give or take), but was as high as $1,500-1,600 right after release. As for me, I'm holding the silver. With this ASE series (1986-2020) coming to a close, I think there will be increased demand for filling out mostly complete sets over the next year or two. I believe I also now have (or am getting) a full set of 2020 ASEs (let me know if I'm missing any, as there are some weird ones in there this year...): - 2020(W) - 2020(P) - 2020(S), on order - 2020-W (proof) - 2020-W (burnished) - 2020-S (proof), on order - 2020-W V75, on order As for grading the V75, this is a trickier question. All of the rest of mine are 70's, so if it could come back as a 70, then I now have a complete set of 70's. On the other hand, if it doesn't, then I'm kind of stuck with a 69 in there, since I probably won't feel like paying the price for a 70...

If you keep it raw or it comes back a 69 you're in the same boat with an incomplete set.
