I would say its an east coast thing but I do not find them often. I have went therough several boxes and only found 3 2000's and 1 98. I actually found my WAMs in a box together both times. The first time I found a 98 and 2000 then I found 2: 2000's and now I have went through about 3 boxes and found nada

I agree- even though I've found a nice amount of WAM'S, (98's & 2000's) I have also gone months without finding any and then in the space of maybe a week, find a couple of them. I've also gone thru $25.00 boxes and found nothing and conversely I have gone thru just $5.00 worth and hit on one, so its all about luck (IMHO) Tonight: No WAMS! 1- 1919P 1- 1944P 1- 1952D 1- 1953D & P 3- 1957P.

Man you guys find a lot of WAM's, I've only found a 1999. Has anyone here ever found a Close AM, not including proofs?

I opened up a few more rolls and I found 2 1955-S cents that are full red color, and have to be Ms condition this was the last penny I needed for my 1941-1974 book so I just put it in. and put the other one in a mylar holder. Should I put this thing in an airtight holder? will it turn brown if I keep it in my book? I'm just wondering because this wheat is the best condition I have ever found with full color and no trace of wear. (its also the key date in my book )

Great finds Starman!
One of the reasons I don't like albums, I feel they just don't provide enough protection from air and humidity. You're 55S will probably stay red and bright for a long time, but eventually it will tone....copper is very reactive. Most of my Lincolns are in airtites, the best 47 cents you can spend to protect your coin. I'm slowly working on having ALL of my Lincolns in airtites!

I don't keep my RD coins in my Dansco. I would rather have nice XF's and AU's in their. I keep my RD coins in Intercept Shield holders. Like Thad stated, they will go RB eventually.

Quote:are the TPG slabs air tite? For the most part but not 100%. Close. It would take the right conditions and time for the RD cent to tone.
