In the same roll as the 1910 LWC (earlier post), I found this. A classic zinc cent with curious little bubbles along Lincoln's forehead and nose--and a few other places like the date. The color you see is very, very close to what's seen in-hand (when the light is right). Just a fun coin to look at.

Bluehunts.... Looks to me like your '82 came in contact with some form of acid.

Oh, that sucks.
Nice photos by the way, what do you use to take those?

Bluehunts...
Thanks. Try Googling 'axial lighting coin photography'. I have an older DSLR with a 105mm macro lens. The axial lighting set-up can be tedious but when everything is in-place the results are consistently good. There are photography resources on this site also--a search of the site would be in order.

I found this cool rainbow toner today! Has a bit of damage and zinc rot, but in person the rainbow iridescence is much stronger and more noticable, and covers both the obverse and reverse of the coin.

I found this 1904 IHC in a machine wrapped roll from my bank a couple of days ago. It was in a Loomis roll. I am very happy with my find.
