Quote: I am sure the COVID pandemic has affected operational costs. How much? I know additional safety procedures are expensive, and I'm sure that was a factor. I received my Mint Set today and I'm very pleased! The new graphics on the blister packs are nice, and the outer cardboard box identifies the set. I generally like the blister packs, but I've never been a fan of the plain outer box. Maybe with fewer coins, a redesign is in the future for 2021?

Nope. I draw the line when businesses start putting greed very much ahead of pleasing customers. As an example, I will go out of my way not to have to deal with the P.O.. The mint price increases were absolutely ridiculous - especially for the silver proof set. I was subscribed for a silver proof set b/c I wanted the Kennedy for my set. I saw the extra silver in the sets a "bonus" of sorts. Forget that - now just going to buy the half separately off of ebay or elsewhere. I realize, for the most part, the silver proof sets went down in cost over a year, but the little extra the mint made off of me with a subscription meant I did not have to worry about forgetting. Their greed made it so I won't forget to just buy the half. I might just sell all the proof sets off (except the halves) and put the money towards something else I would like now. I also have a subscription for a proof ASE and am thinking of canceling it as well. 2021 is a new REV design, so maybe I will stop the collection at 2020. The cost increase being my incentive to do so.

Quote: Mine is still in pre-shipment limbo with USPS waiting for the item. Oh no! If it's any consolation, I don't think USPS Tracking is fully working properly. Supposedly my set had been moving all around the state for a few days, went in the opposite direction, and ended up sitting for a while in a sorting facility hundreds of miles out of the way, but when I refreshed my screen it was suddenly out for delivery without ever "arriving" at my local post office. Maybe it's the increased holiday/COVID demand coupled with all the other institutional changes this year, I'm not sure. But all that to say, there's probably a good chance your set is cruising along to you as we speak.

There won't be a revere proof or W burnished of the old design.

My tracking says "shipped" since Dec. 4th, yet Tracking still says "Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item" 6 days later.
I guess, budget shipping is 1-2 weeks, it's been 6 days since shipped, so I guess let it ride for another 8 days and see what happens.
Kind of less worried seeing I'm not the only one sitting in tracking limbo for so long.

I received my set yesterday and must say, both Jefferson nickels are very well struck. As if from fresh dies or possibly refinement. Which in no way takes away from the beauty of the others. An exceptional improvement from past sets I must say.

191,076 sets of the 213,000 sold as of 12/06/20 according to the mint's sales figures. I don't think it will be long before it's sold out.

Thank you for the update, Bret. I wonder when the Post Office will finally get these for delivery.
