Thanks for your kind words, but my point was only to show how an "ALBUM" can easily be created by the free software offered by the TPG's. By the way, while the hotlink in my above reply seems to still work, for some reason the hotlink in your quote does not seem to work. Perhaps some editing may be needed? Steve

Quote: Love how the coins are displayed in the blue virtual album. Almost better than a real album. I like the proofs best, just what I have in mind as well. But for me "only" mid-to-lower grade proofs PR62-65. @NumisEd, I truly am sincere when I say that it's the coin designs themselves that give beauty to an album or collection of Type Coins. While collectors appreciate and recognize grades, we should ALL be able to feel the great pride and pleasure when we show these old U.S. coin designs to the average non-collector, regardless of the grades of the coins.

Cant see the screen. While I'm kidding, I'm really not, your set is dreamy! But that's not what I would get for my album (hence why I'm doing slabbed). I agree tat having such high grade coins in an album wouldn't work. And I like looking at my albums hence why I wouldn't do it even in my current grades. As to the 1888 dime, I've been frugal and picky, I'm pretty certain I can sell the majority for what I paid or more.

Steve in Tampa once posted this quote: "Comparison is the thief of joy" - Theodore Roosevelt But I had to look. I was looking over my type set and I noticed that several posters had on average lower graded coins than me and still were higher on the registry. Looking around I noticed that a few coins had crazy points and barely cost anything. The below bicentennial quarter is one of these. In MS 66 its only worth 169 points but in PF 69 its worth over 3000 points, considering that I paid only $5 less for the MS66, the point difference is pretty extreme. So for $20 I picked up the below and moved from 106 to 97 (was at 96, but went to 97 today)

I never understood the "formula" or lack thereof that NGC uses to calculate these. There are a couple like that in the BUFFALO set, but not as extreme. To hit over 3,000 points you're spending at least $1,000 per coin. Doesn't seem to be much (there is some) correlation between value or rarity vs. points awarded.
