Hello Community from Russia! I just bought some Buffalos and noticed that one of them has a 'softer', plain strike. It's got me wondering if it's an original piece. Let me know what you think. The coin weighs 5.01 grams.   |

How much did you pay for them? The pair are worth close to $100 USD retail if genuine. I can't say one way or the other from those images but I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling from early date, branch mint Buffalos from Russia. Real to me. I like the one on the left. One can see the clashed dies under chin. The E PLURIBUS UNUM is clashed there under the chin.

BH1964, this pair cost $50. Got 10 Nickels in total, all semi-key dates in very good-nice condition. Most have similar oxidized dots , looks like they were stored together for a long time.

First, Would you be willing to post close-up photos of four areas? It would be helpful to see these areas for each coin:  a closeup of the mint mark a closeup of the left side of the reverse, around the rim from the "U" of UNITED through the left half of the buffalo's head to the left tip of the ground located left of the "F" in FIVE. This should include the gouge or scratch diagonally across the buffalo's head and the semicircular scratch or gouge near the rim below the buffalo's head. a closeup of the buffalo's rear legs a closeup of LIBERTY, including the space between the Indian's forehead and LIBERTY Thank you! |
