hfjacinto Pillar of the Community United States 7293 Posts	Posted 03/31/2023 4:08 pm While I'm not a fan of the Jefferson nickel, I do like the War Nickels for the history. I also always wanted a silver 1942 Proof nickel as only ~29,000 were made which makes it one of the rarest nickels, coupled with the history of the time, that its an interesting add. I don't actively look for one but when one comes up on auction, I bid grey sheet and if I win (which I haven't), if I lose I don't get it. I kept noticing that one PF66 nickel kept coming up and not selling. Starting was over Grey Sheet and at NGC price guide. Instead of bidding on it, I reached out to the seller and made an offer a little over ($5) of greysheet, not expecting much. Well the seller took it and I got a nice nickel to add to the my collection and give me a few extra points.
