@winesteven, While I appreciate jBucks bullying on my 7070 adventure, I do admit to looking at your PCGS set and drooling (a lot) so you also get some blame on this. I'll have my wife call you to complain (luckily she is traveling for work so I can say I always had these coins )

Thanks for your kind words. I've been closely following your progress on this set, and you're doing a great job, putting together a VERY attractive set that anyone can be proud of. And you're making common sense decisions in doing this in a smart, cost efficient manner! Regarding your lovely wife, like you said, you've had these coins all along, with just a few having been long delayed in the hands of the Postal Service, lol.
Congrats, and Happy Hunting!

My final coin is OUT FOR DELIVERY, crazy how these coins have traveled more of the US than I did this year. Usually a coin goes from the origin to the destination. These must have been on the sloth. And they toured most of my state before getting to me. One toured several cities in Texas, which weren't even close to each other. But onto to good news. With the last batch of coins I am now at 165. Today you get 2 pictures. I originally picked up the below 5 cents for my 7070 (under $10): Looking through the list of coins missing, I decided to see if a war time 5 cents was reasonable, found a few, and the below looked really nice. It came up as a 1942 War Nickel. I ended up buying it. When I added it to the set it took the place of the above and gave me 3x the points. I'm like what did I do wrong. Looking again, the coin was a 1948 not 1942 as advertised. No matter cost was reasonable so it got added to the virtual 7070. I need to be more careful when looking at descriptions on ebay. Still don't know how an MS66 is worth more points than a PF69, but I'm still happy.

All the coins traveling through the USPS have finally come home. With those added, I'm at 162 on the registry and 51% complete. Since I got all the easy coins out of the way, the adds are going to be the classics. But I have a few I still need to post so today we have a JFK. I miss that coinage is no longer made of PM.

Today's coin is a silver quarter proof. This one I picked up for not a lot (under $15). I really like the toning and when I checked the price on NGC, it has a price value of $55? Also it got me over 1400 points on the registry. I just liked it as it looked nice and was inexpensive. Sometimes I wonder how a point value is assigned.

Quote: Also it got me over 1400 points on the registry Yeah... NGC always weights Proofs higher than MS (except in a few cases). Example, A MS67RD Wheat cent is worth 774 points and costs around $60-70. A PF67RD is 225 points and around $30. So the price to point ratio makes sense. However, let's go a grade up. A MS68RD Wheat cent is worth 849 points and costs around $3400. A PF68RD is worth 2124 points and costs around $120. What kind of logic is this? The MS example is 28x as expensive as the PF, but the proof is worth 2.5x as many points.

The next group of coins are moderns. I know we all love the Seated Liberties and Trade dollars, but there are as many modern coins as older, so her is a nice dime from 1956.
