You seem to be able to swiftly buy high quality good eye appeal coins. What's your secret?

Quote: You seem to be able to swiftly buy high quality good eye appeal coins. What's your secret? No secret. I've had many of these coins prior to doing this set . I also shop locally so I get good prices. And when I buy on ebay, I look for a price/visual appeal. For example higher MS coins go up in price quickly, while MS62-65 coins are much lower priced and in many cases not graded well, so I buy the coin and not the grade. I also have no issue with who graded the coin. In many cases a nicer coin is cheaper because it's graded by a different company. In many cases people take really bad pictures, so I always check coin verification (when buying online) and I've also taken risks buying coins that could be better than the pictures. I also have a side hobby (I do Astrophotography) and any profit I make from selling a picture I put back into the hobby. And lastly I can take a good picture

In my case, locally is very bifurcated: either cheap low grade coins or ultra expensive high grade coins. Neither is what I am looking for.

This was the coin that got me started on doing a 7070. In 2019, I found the below Barber dime at my LCS. After reading up on the 7070 and looking at the NGC registry, I thought that the below would be a good fit for a slabbed 7070. I picked up early in 2019 with a long term intention of starting a 7070 (eventually). Took a few side tours (Canada Small Cents and US currency), but this was the coin that planted the 7070 in my head.

Nice! Both coins posted on this page are very nice examples for the grade. Well played!

Since the US Mint will be releasing new Peace dollars in 2021. We needed an older one for the 7070 When I found one in an old green PCGS holder, I had to get it.

Not sure why you are wasting you time on this instead of getting more banknotes, but I guess they are pretty nice. Of course, I'm kidding. I would have almost certainly started a 7070 during this COVID telework period if not for the fact that Dansco 7070 albums cost more than most of my coins these days.

Hey El Capitan de cafe!! I honestly priced out of the remaining notes. Everything I wanted was much more than I could afford. And I also completed most of my goals, I'm still going to finish the fractional type set but after I finish this set and the Indian Head cents.
