Muhammad Asif New Member Pakistan 32 Posts	Posted 02/05/2021 01:46 am Need input on it's Grade - First issue Ceylon Queen Victoria - 1870 1/4 Ceylon Cent - Composition Copper , Mintage 200000 , Diameter 14mm , Weight 1.2gm , Thickness 1mm with obverse - Machine Doubling in obverse legends " QUEEN " & internal die break in legend " VICTORIA " . Reverse internal break running through legends " QUARTER CENT " , Offset Strike , Planchet error . This is a very small coin - smaller than my finger tip - had a hard time photographing it . Being Copper & 150+ year old it's in fine state . The denomination is the smallest issued for Ceylon . Report this Post to the Staff

sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 02/05/2021 02:09 am Coin should not be photographed resting on fingers. Clean with acetone immediately. It is almost certain that the coin will pick up fingerprint images. Skin oils are acidic and will affect the the toning with fingerprinting. Interesting concentric die cracks as noted. RD/BN Choice uncirculated. The British Royal Mint used same planchet for the scarce 1/4 Farthing, for issue in the colonies of the Empire, although a home issue design and denomination.
