The most asked question on any coin forum. Sorry that is a Large Date.

yep, a large date, most likely Zinc cent due to apparent zinc rot. Can you give it's weight when you get home? If 2.5g= Zinc, 3.11g= Copper

I don't know - looks like it has roller lines on it so that would make it a copper cent.

But roller lines do happen on zinc cents as well. In fact with the lower profile of this coin, I'm thinking it is a zinc cent. Weight will be 2.5 grams if it is. Large date zinc.

The question I have on this is how was the date spared of the roller lines? What makes those lines? Because I'd they're parking lot rub why isn't the date affected?

Zinc is rolled out as well. Note the rolling lines, before the strike and after the strike. True they are weaker, but they survive the strike and seen in BU.
