Looks like a normal LDS coin. The marks in the fields are die flow lines.

Yes, late die stage--deterioration underway. Die wants to be retired (and move to Reno).

Die deterioration/Die deformation showing the metal flow lines.

The die may have been over polished, shorting the devices. When the plague die flow lines came back, the devices are barely a face in the crowd in their dominating prescience. (You can barely see the forest for the trees) I'd save it for an educational piece for a new collector to show them how bad die wear can look on a nickel. That is is not a premium for the coin, but a show and tell item.
