1989 Lincoln Memorial Cent / LMC With RDV-005?

amnight Valued Member United States 332 Posts	Posted 06/14/2021 4:08 pm I have been comparing this coin with the example that @coop posted showing the comparison between RDV-005 and RDV-006. There are a few things going on with this coin that throw me off and I have some questions. The distance between the FG and Memorial building seem to show as RDV-005, is this correct? The spacing between the A and M in AMERICA seem to show a wider gap between the letters than RDV-006, is this correct? And, as for the difference between the AM from RDV-005 and RDV-006, I see flat devices on this coin. Is this correct? I also think this could be the result of cleaning up the die. SamCoin Pillar of the Community United States 3237 Posts	Posted 06/15/2021 12:21 am No such thing. Just an over polished die making the flare on the G less visible. You can tell it's RDV-006 by the fact that the top of the G doesn't extend as far right as the bottom. Report this Post to the Staff

I have found two of the same examples that you have posted pictures of thinking I found a 1989 with a 005 reverse but they are a result of a drastically over polished die. I have found one 1988 RDV-006 Cent Coin Roll Hunting (CRH) and was ecstatic. They are out there, just keep looking. I believe Wexler's has dismissed the fact that a 005 on a 1989 exists.
