If the R is the same height of the coin all around how would that be MD? There's no step like features to that R at all the bottom of the R curves slightly upwards suggesting there was some grease in the letters decreasing the height of the devices as a whole  Edited by Decaf94drew

There is MD and DDD all over UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and a ton in liberty and the motto however those are not the points of interest yet they still look larger to begin with even if it was MD how did the devices increase in size |

This was an area I avoided showing but it seems like comparisons on the same coin may be necessary due to my cameras and lighting.... this is an R in AMERICA it is on the exact same coin this is how these phenomenon will look for reference.  I didnt really want to point out or talk about things I'm not 100% on so I didn't talk about LIBERTY on purpose but if I had to guess this would be my take that area   Ok so with all that if LIBERTY is MD that still looks like some pretty fat lettering to begin with. I'm comparing this coin to other Texas examples in hand and with PCGS photos of Denver mint examples and the R is going to be the strongest pick up point. Even on the coin itself this distance changes in the R based on location of the coin  The last two photos were taken at the same time under the same magnification and cropped to the same size why is there a huge variation in size design detail on the same coin? Partially Grease Filled Die of the word quarter. The entire device could not be struck so you just see the base of the letter which would be wider. The device letters are tapered to facilitate easy ejection of the coin from the die and coin press. |

If you had a doubled die you should be looking at features on the interior of your coin, not the exterior. I think you have grease issues along with circulation flattening and Machine Doubling. Also, with the overall photos you presented, please crop them down to the edges of your coin. This will help make your images larger and have less wasted space.  |

Alright I know my photos suck haha but check the full coin obverse image again closely, at the top of his ear nestled up against that spaghetti mess is a nice lil something extra.. its just kinda all around there mixed in there and a mess to differentiate what's supposed to be there and what isn't but there's definitely some weird stuff up in that little section...
