Hi to all, I am in dilemma. After I bayed an estate from an supervisor of the mint Phil from 1961 till 1975, 40 full boxes uncheck and receive today, I open the first more heavy.

I know many photos not really the bests. One thing, the flat of the coins are dull and very smooth,

I find an 1964 SMS set. I say it is another fake. I look and when I do the light test show me all the time the high relief.
Then I go close and the surfaces do not fit with my 67 and 68 proof and mint coins.

Could be a one of the 600 sets done? What is your opinion?

The Grand papa "Good kip him in pace" was supervisor in Phil, and by work contract has the right to buy sets at the value of coins and plus production cost. I have the work contract copy.

My question it is : (The photos with my new Sonny camera are not the best, COOP must teach me)what it is your feelings?.

To me, they all look like proof coins.

Proof coins someone put into a sms holder. The holder is definitely after 1964. The so called 1964 sms coins were never assembled into sets, no holders like this were used until the 1965 special mint sets came out. Where did you come up with the 600 figure for 1964 special mint sets? There are no records of special mint sets for 1964 so there are no mintage numbers.

First, let me say I'm very jealous and excited at the same time about your purchase. Congratulations and I'm looking forward to seeing your threads about the collection.

They do look very shiny like a proof set. There are markers for each coin. Look for known markers.

One suggestion I have is to look for a DDR or DDO on the Kennedy half dollar. There were a lot of both for 1964 Proofs. If you get a match to one on VV that would be a definite answer that this is a proof set and not an SMS.
