To the CCF

Looks like some sort of stain, but whatever it is
it isn't an error but PMD.

Partially removed plating, likely from acid exposure. PMD

Post mint damage - nothing int he minting process would do this.

Is this coin circular, or is there a bulge where the copper that is showing? It also looks to be slightly cupped in that same area.
Can you post up better pictures of this area?

Just a few questions....Could this have been a blank sandwiched between 2 others during the plating process? Is there copper plating all the way around the circumference of the edge? What is the weight?

IMO save until an expert could view this coin in hand (maybe a large coin show near you) No need to be in a hurry to spend it. Looks well struck (especially the reverse) and not seeing any effects from acid...I'm on the fence with this being a plating error.....

Edited: to CCF....can we get a shot of the edge?.... also in future posts, Please crop out all unnecessary background, that will give us larger pixs to view
