Maybe not, the two pieces are punched separately.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Punched seperate and struck together as two seperate pieces. It would have to be a die issue not a planchet issue. Would this be a pre Cud or Retained Cud? Not great with the terms for Die Deterioration past basic die cracks.

The obverse die also has had a die-clash resulting in what appears to be a beard on the queen. Hard-to-find variety in itself.
