mickeydog New Member United States 45 Posts	Posted 07/20/2023 12:55 pm I just received my two 2023 Morgans and two Peace dollars. I did not see any visible defects,a sigh of relief. I had to return two of my 2021 Morgans because of defects. It was a nightmare getting my money back. It took almost 8 months to get my refund because on the mint's poor bookeeping. No loose capsules, all the coins were positioned correctly in the holders and none show any signs of handling or damage. I'd give all four solid 70's at MY grading service! Very happy! hfjacinto Pillar of the Community United States 7279 Posts	Posted 07/20/2023 9:20 pm Anyone compare the 2021 to the 2023? I noticed a difference in both the Morgans and Peace. I was looking at both and I notice a small difference in the finish. The finish for the 2021 has an almost steriel look. It seems more detailed but with no soft details, kind of like a harsh finish, like taking a picture in full daylight. While the 2023 looks softer, the same details but not so harsh. To me the 2023 looks like a picture taken in the golden light. It's the same face but one is more bold the other is softer a little more pleasing. Yes it could be die state, but it looks like the 2023 die was polished a little more. Any one else notice this? They forgot 2022 though. I would think they would have better uses and remake more older coins than to continue the Peace/Morgan series. If it does continue, I wonder what differences, if any, they would put for 2024. Enhanced Uncirculated, Enhanced Reverse Proof. High relief, or just add a bullion version of the coin. I was one of the ones that forgot to buy upon release. I just purchased 3 sealed shipping box quantity. Now, the peace. Looks like those are going cheaper with large quantities. [Photography note: Rather than photographing them from directly above, I did it at a slight angle to enhance the contrast a bit. And then I used Photoshop to change the proportions back to completely circular.] Can't wait for the reverse proofs to come out!
