I wish I looked here first before I started looking up the coin sizes to post here. Yes, the coins are the same diameter of 38.1 millimeters.

Watched YouTuber Paulybuck show his 2023 Morgan. There's some dark spotting on the coin upper reverse. Hope everyone here on CCF gets good ones!

While I'm really happy with my new coins I really miss the cartwheels. They just don't look quite right. Is the mint unable to reproduce the original look?

On page 26 captainmandrake posted a picture of his morgan and it also appeared to have some odd staining on the reverse.

It would have been cool to have the newer Morgan Peace with cartwheel effect, the flow lines. I assume it could have been done. But they decided to go with the same 99.9% silver planchets of other commemorative dollars and striking process.

In My Opinion, The Original Morgans were Full of Cartwheels, The Silver Then was NOT the same as Now, Also, The Planchets were Prepped differently, Now Not the Same... The Process has Technologically Changed, Prep work, Planchet Prep, Infused Designs/Artwork, Etching ? Nothing like the Originals.... People would Enjoy the Old School Looks, Me Too..... 1878 Through 1921, 100th Anniversary 2021. Now, 2022, 2023 ? ... Why do they make the Morgan dollars AFTER the Last Year of the Original Series ? Why, Just because they can.....

Quote: I would buy them I think most of us would. I'd just about bet 10$ to a donut that it has been discussed by the planning and marketing gurus at the Mint as a possible future product. Nothing would surprise me when money gets brought into the picture. Gotta keep those employees and contractors employed!

The Topic is Changing, Westernsky, Interesting Path of Thoughts, My asking about minting the Morgans After their Anniversary Dates, Seriously, I joke about Making The Money, I am asking WHY , They have NO Anniversary... Just they are Changing the History, I Would NOT be on board for Re Minting of Older, Classic Designed Other Coins. I Do Not collect those Series...I collected the Modern Morgans and Peace dollars Because I wanted to Compliment the Originals, I am Sure, Others Here, That Do Collect the Classics, They would Be on Board To collect Them.... ..... I am Sure Members Here would Be All Over the Re Minted Coinages of Days Gone Bye...... I am Also Sure, The Classics Were Discussed, Options That's A Very Touchy Path...... PS, Does Anyone HERE know of Any One on the Commission for America's Coinages, We Need to Have a Say !!!

I believe the consensus of the collectors on here is that the mint remade Morgan's and Peace purely for the money and I , along with a lot of others gladly jumped on the band wagon. And I would have been annoyed if they lost their value but even with large mintages there is still demand, they are selling for 50-100%+ over initial release price. Even at release I purchased extra and sold all for over initial release price (ended up reducing my cost of each to $54, if I didn't keep 2 Peace I would have at $32 each but I like Peace dollar ). Unlike the commemoratives and most other mint products that lose value these haven't so as a collector and as value they make sense to collect. So in the end the mint makes money and long term they have gained value so it's a win win unlike a lot of other mint products!

Makes Perfect Sense. In My Opinion There is Another " consensus of the collectors on here ", That Collect Differently, That Said, I Mean There are Collectors HERE that Pick and Choose, As they Wish, What " Coins ", They Feel are Worth Collecting , Regardless of Costs Associated... Regardless of Known Honors, to Such Kings or Queens... Some Collectors, Like Myself, Collect Entire Mint Marked Series of The United States of America's Mint Made Products, Not some Select Examples, The Entire Series, So Costs do NOT enter into the Equation, ( Of course Costs Always Matter, ) We Choose To Collect what We Wish, ...As I Have Re-Thought My Collecting Targets, and have Added All Newer Morgans and Peace Silver Dollars to My Original Set(s)....... Collecting takes on Many Paths, .......
