Quote: Be careful with canned air, if shaken or in a wrong position the liquid can shoot out and damage coins or camera lens Oh MAN don't do that with a can of the stuff that has the anti-huffing stuff in it that makes you taste ultra bitterness for an hour! I accidently squirted out some liquid when using a brand new can-o-air in my PC case. WOW was that ROUGH!

Well I spoke too soon about my other orders. The first 2 Peace were perfect. My first 2 Morgans the same. Then out of 6 more Peace, 4 of them have milk haze. 5 out of 5 Morgans either haze or scratches. Going to return a total of 9. Don't know if I want to take a chance on replacing them or refund. At $80.00 you would think they would solve some of their lint and fiber problems. My unc. all were perfect. Guess I was expecting too much.

Received my first order from the US mint, the Peace dollar was perfect the Morgan not so much.. Nasty scratch right next to the M, was hoping it was on the capsule so I removed it to confirm but it is definitely on the coin..

That is a great looking Morgan, The focus could be a bit better - but that could be the capsule.

Ok now I'm seeing similarities to Gilly's Morgan now with the tiny white spots here and there. http://goccf.com/t/451255#3899183However, this new image is just perfect! thanks. and it is a great looking coin.

My concern is the notable scratch just to the left of the M.. It is harder to see on this image but very noticeable on the first one with the capsule. Very distracting now that I know it's there..

Darn, I can see the scratch, yeah call them, send it back if you want. Tell them it's damaged, they should set you up with a return label, use the order form that came with the coin, at bottom is area to check it's damaged and you either want refund or replacement. I mailed mine back using the same box it came in, used 2" tape.

I saw that mark by the 'M' I thought it was lint or maybe a mark on the capsule. Is it on the coin itself? If not, and it is the cap, I have lots, and willing to send you one if you need.

Unfortunately it is on the coin, I took it out of the capsule to confirm. Almost looks like another coin dinged it...
US Mint had no issues sending a return label.. Unfortunately I'll still get the short end of the stick with broker/shipping fees..
Will probably hold off getting another for now and see if I can find a Morgan in Canada down the line somewhere...

Well, yes that is very unfortunate with a ding on the field like that. Good luck finding a better one.

I think the current mint director is worse than the previous one. Not only do we still see the enormous number of QC issues, we also see outlandishly HIGH mintages which are limiting the value of these 2023 proofs and uncs. With the high mintage, the 2023 Proof / uncirculated Morgan and Peace will be the LEAST desirable of the series so far.

I understand with these high mintages there will undoubtedly be some that slip through the cracks but some of these issues are very noticeable with just a quick glance. And makes it even worse when it's on the coin that you receive. As far as the high mintages, I think that along with this new subscription program is his attempt at trying to please the masses and all those who complained about not being able to get certain coins. I guess time will tell if this continues or if changes will be made seeing as how there's still plenty of stock available on both the Morgan and Peace proofs. I, personally, prefer the old method with the lower mintages even if it means battling it out on a bogged down site that eventually crashes.
