hfjacinto stated, " I miss the days when the Mint coins were 2X spot and came in nice packaging, now they are 3X spot and come in shoddy/cheap packages." I Could NOT Agree More... PS, The Quality Control Could have a Stronger Presence Too. .... The Proofs are " Well Cushioned " in The Brown Box Tombs, Just NOT worth Seeing,or Wanting to keep, When We hold Our United States Mints, to a Higher Standard.... Especially Our " The Granite Lady ". ( The San Francisco Mint ). I Ordered about a Dozen Proofs, Sending back Almost Half, for Replacements, .....

I originally ordered two proof Morgan and two proof Peace. One Morgan and one Peace were good, other two had pit in field. I returned one Morgan and one Peace with mint supplied labels in separate boxes (same boxes they came in) and filled out the order forms at bottom saying I was returning one of the ordered two. I just looked at my bank account. Got $80 refund for one but don't know if it was for the Morgan or Peace. The other refund was $160. It should have been $80. An employee made a mistake, refunded the full $160 like I had sent both back.
What to do? By now the order label has likely been filed away somewhere and the coins back in the stock bin? I could call them, explain their mistake, but would they mess up again and charge me $160 rather than just taking $80 out of my account? The time it took me to box up the coins, drive 8-9 miles to the UPS store is worth something so I could just do nothing LOL. Think I'll wait a week or so to see if they correct their error.

They will catch that mistake eventually, just be ready to pay back $80.00 at some point.

Well after receiving my Morgans and Peace and having about 50% returns, I figured I'd order 2 more each. Thinking I'd have a better shot at receiving better. I was wrong, 1 of each this time instead of haze had scratches on the fields. The unc were absolutely perfect, the proofs are trash.

I also agree. The mint quality hasn't been great lately. I like that I have high grade peace and Morgan dollars but I'm not 100% certain I'll keep on going. At least with the Morgan's. Unless they do some new finishes these are just expensive commemoratives. But I am pretty superficial, do a seated liberty or a Trade dollar and here's my money!!!!

In My Experiences, The Uncirculated Coins , Are Spectacular, They set the Stage for an Awesome Release of The Morgan silver dollar Proofs, IMO, Failed........ The History Books Will Remember The Historic Anniversary s, They Will Remember The UNCIRCULATED Versions, Taking the Center Stage for The Releases, They DID Not Disappoint ..... The Same History Books Will Also Remember The PROOF Morgans, Failed The Fact the Crisp, Deep Cameo's I have Seen pictures HERE of, I Was Really Looking Forward to These Proofs, I Personally, Feel Myself and Others Included, Very Disappointed and Let Down.........My Concern lies in the Inconsistency of Crisp Coins Seen Here, That The San Francisco Mint, Signed off on These, as a Whole.. All Examples Considered, Why Not More PR-70'S., Disgraceful imperfect coins... .................................................. PS, I am Also Looking Forward to The Reverse Proofs Releases This Nov,

Man I hope they get their stuff together on the reverse proofs. Not holding my breath though. After these proofs, I m wondering if I want 5 of the reverse proofs. Maybe it will take 5 to get 1 good 1.

You think they will melt down the returned coins, or ship them back out for new orders?
