Double Die Proof Coin? (1968 S Quarter)

May be a bit blurry as it is still in the coin set casing. If the S a double die.. I photographed it straight up and upside down. I looked at a 1968S proof and it is nothing like this. HGK3 Pillar of the Community United States 584 Posts	Posted 09/05/2022 6:02 pm It can't be a doubled die on the mint mark because they were added to the working die by hand punch until about 1990. However, there 3 known RPM's for the proof coins issued that year. Unfortunately, the pictures you've uploaded make it really difficult to tell if it's one of those three. Take a look at Variety Vista to see if what you can see with the coin in hand matches any of those three and let us know. Report this Post to the Staff

A camera will always introduce interference lines (rasters) into a picture of a screen. The rasters hide important details.
