My gift arrived a couple weeks back but I waited to open it until this morning. Thanks, Secret Santa for the Buffalo nickel and 2006-D Colorado quarter (both ANACS slabbed)! Merry Christmas, everyone!

Nickelsearcher, Santa saw that your present hasn't made it to you yet, but has fingers crossed that it will arrive safely soon. Next year it's definitely going on the sleigh! Sorry for the wait.

My gift is delayed, I apologize. I sent it too late.
About "Christmas" and "New Year". I want to add that here in Russia, we don't celebrate Christmas either, we have all the celebrations and holidays for the New Year. This is not only in Russia, it is done by all countries of the former USSR. I think this is due to the fact that Christmas is a religious holiday (Catholic?)

Dear folks, All the way from Kansas, USA, I received a very generous gift this year. This is the second gift I got so I already feel very lucky. There is a set of 36 cards about US coin varieties and a gorgeous 1847 US 1 cent. It's a beautiful coin, never had one before. So a big thank you for the sender from me. If he could send me a PM, I"d like to thank to him personally too.

yay! I am happy to see that it made it to you. I think I made the postal workers day when I mailed that one. I do not think he had ever mailed something to Turkey. It was a first for me too. Those flash cards were given out by a guy named J.T. Stanton as part of a campaign to get him elected to some position or other within the American Numismatic Association (americas biggest coin club) sometime in the mid 90's (i think 1995). J.T. and a guy named Bill Fivas wrote a book called the Cherry Pickers Guide. when it was released in 1990 it really changed how people were collecting. double dies and repunched mintmarks were all the rage. The FS (for Fivas/Stanton) prefix is used for many varieties today. Happy Holidays friends!

Thanks Santa,
I received a couple of silver coins, some pretend gold, and some foreign coins! Now all I have to do is figure how to upload an image with my phone.

My Santa gift has arrived. It's a wonderful mystery with packages within the package to explore - which I will do tomorrow and post a full report. @ CarrsCoins - well done. Alas my Canadian gift recipient is still MIA. I hope they are well - hope to hear from them soon.

I didn't have Informed Delivery turned on (fixed that now), but after logging in (and with a nudge from rggoodie) I see I have my gift from Santa waiting at my PO Box. Just logged in and appears it was delivered Thursday so I'll have to grab tomorrow. I didn't go out Thursday and Friday because of the severe cold weather and the PO was closed Sat-Monday.

So, I had great fun unpacking my Santa gift. It was very creative and thoughtful - so I'll share the wonderful gifts: The package contained 2 envelopes to explore; first one: Inside were two US mint errors neither of which I had an example of. So, yes - the elves did give good advice! The second envelope contained an intriguing message: Inside were twenty more gifts, carefully protected, waiting to be explored: To my great joy the 20 gifts were all some version of a coin with denomination base 5. Perfect gift for a nickelsearcher! I had a lot of fun trying to identify each country of origin, date and local denomination. How did I do on my classification? I could not determine the date on the 5 Baisa from Muscat & Oman - can anyone help? @ Santa - many thanks for the thoughtful and delightful gift.
