I found this coin in some change that my grandmother had. It looks like there is some doubling on the 9 and the 2. I also noticed some sort of shadowing to the right of the 2. Would this be a double die? I'm new to double dies, and I don't know all the abbriviations, Machine Doubling and such. Help would be much appreciated. Thanks
The pictures don't show the true color of the coin.

Hi,
That is a form of doubling that occurs on the copper-plated zinc cent as dies deteriorate. That being said, let's see a better picture of the date in one shot.

Thanks,
Bill

I have also just found a 1992 D cent that appears to be doubled. Also on the obverse and especially around the "992" and "D".
