mklpatrick Pillar of the Community United States 580 Posts	Posted 03/02/2009 1:16 pm I normally hit up my bank drive through for some Kennedy halves. I hope for a some silver - '64 from time to time and some 40% halves. Today all they had was $11 worth, so I bought it all. I was pretty shocked to find these two mixed in with the JFKs! Well it helps that I am a business owner and make frequent trips to the bank for deposit purposes. Today as an afterthought, right before I left, I asked the teller if they had any halves. Half the time they don't have any at all. Other times they may have about $8 to $10 worth and they are all from the 90s and newer. There have been three times where I came away with a '64 and a couple late 60s. I've heard of other people scoring silver like this at their bank but I always pictured it happening at small banks in the middle of nowhere. I bank at a major facility in a very large urban area. Maybe they came from a little old lady's jar, or something. Report this Post to the Staff
david29 Valued Member United States 432 Posts	Posted 03/02/2009 5:02 pm I am in what most people would call a backwoods area, I know for certain of 11 different people, and unknown others, scouring the local banks within 20 miles for halves and dimes to search for silver. I dont know about cents/nickels. I think all the coins in my bank get searched lol. Report this Post to the Staff
