Here is the Liberty nickel that I found. It was an ender unfortunately and you can see the fresh damage across the date. I am thinking it is an 1887. What are your thoughts?
The sorting mat definitely helps speed up the sorting process.
As for the cats, we are down to only Felix. We had gotten the Kitten, named Lemon, for Felix however there were some constant and ever increasing territorial issues with Felix. Well, it turns out the Lemon, who we were told was a she was actually a he. Having two male cats in the same home typically does not work out well and this was no exception. Lemon now lives with one of my wife's friends.
It's amazing how quickly three months flew by without sorting through nickels.
I am going to try this two box a week approach. I much prefer going through 10,000 at a time, but time is something that I don't have right now.
I finally searched the 6,000 nickels that I have had laid out since July 10th. Still searching for the 39-D and 43-D. I found a buffalo and 3 silver War Nickels. Totals and video are below.
