Here's a coin that I am planning on selling on ebay. It's a bit challenging to grade though, so before I put it up for sale, I wanted to see what you all thought on its grade.

Heavy woodgrain effect makes it tough to evaluate this one, assuming genuine. Funky color. Not a coin that would appeal to an enthusiast of the series. Looks to be mid-AU? Not a fan.

EF45, just misses AU

It doesn't look like woodgrain toning to me.

Are you sure that's a bold "N?"

This is one of the many and very common DDRs of 1870. If you look at the serifs in the "E" on the reverse, they are different. This is a result of being both, the Shallow N and the Bold N. Technically, this is a result of the Bold N being rehubbed over a Shallow N. It doesn't add value though as this is VERY common for the date.

That's odd. It has the long-stemmed E crossbars typical of a shallow N reverse, but the lower diagonal downstroke of the N's crossbar appears to be fully intact, which is seen on bold N reverses.

I'll just leave it open to speculation for now.
