I found this coin it is coin old but I need to know is this mint mark coin and silver coin. Thanks .

This is a very well worn Denver minted nickel, and no, this is not a 35% silver coin, they were only minted from 1942 to 1945 (WWII nickels)

Not a silver coin. Piece has suffered from post-strike damage, which includes a copious amount of environmental degradation. And yes, has a D mint mark.

This is a non silver nickel worth five cents. Just to save you time in the future, you could use a search engine and type in 1961 D nickel to find out all about it.

Crater, you are not the first and won't be the last to think this. Many think that nickels follow the same rules as U.S. coins like dimes, quarters and halves, that were minted before 1965, they do not. As mentioned above, the only silver nickels were the " War Nickels" and they are 35% silver instead of the 90% silver coins I have mentioned above.
