One of the first maple leafs I picked up. There have been four different obverse portraits of the Queen used on Canadian coinage, with new portraits introduced in 1953, 1965, 1990 and 2003. Queen Elizabeth is shown from 27 years old till the late 70's in the coinage.

Great collection thus far, hfjacinto. I'm doing something similar, collecting (first strike) Mint/Proof bullion coins.

From BVI we go to China. The 10 Yan coins are 1 ounce bullion from 1983 to 2015, in 2016 they switched to Metric and are now 30 grams. The Panda design changes every year. The 2010 is one of my favorites.

Today's coin is from the Isle of Mann, if you are like me you asked where is the Isle Of Mann? The Isle of Man, Manx, Mannin or Mann is a self-governing British Crown Dependency in the Irish Sea between Great Britain and Ireland. It is 32 mi long and, at its widest point, 14 mi wide. It has an area of around 221 sq mi. Besides the island of Mann , the political unit of the Isle of Man includes some nearby small islands: the seasonally inhabited Calf of Man,Chicken Rock (on which stands an unstaffed lighthouse), St Patrick's Isle and St Michael's Isle. The last two of these are connected to the main island by permanent roads/causeways. The Isle of Mann along with a few other countries like Niue and Marshall Islands produce a lot of coins for collectors. This is mine.
