Greetings Folks! I am totally new to the forum! I am not really a coin collector, but by default, have a collection of coins that I inherited 40 years ago or so. I've rarely looked at these coins but am now thinking I should do something with them. Of course, the something is sell them. Besides the Canadian coins in the collection there is this: Franklin Mint 'Great Canadian Landmarks' in presentation case with booklet, in excellent condition. The 50 coins are gorgeous! Seems a shame to take them to a Gold/Silver buyer who would pay spot silver and melt them or whatever. Any thoughts as to selling these? I see many coins of the set on sale individually but I've yet to see a full set.

@ran, first welcome to CCF. Second, it looks like this set of silver rounds has been the subject of a couple previous threads, although not for some time. Here is one from 2016:

The current melt value for this set is about $2200CAD
Like most Franklin Mint giftware medallions you'll be hard-pressed to sell them for much of a premium above melt value.

Franklin Mint medals to have a small core of dedicated collectors, partly because the series is "closed" (Franklin Mint no longer make medals) and partly because surviving numbers are not as high as they were when first issued. Many have been already melted, and many have been damaged and ruined by Franklin Mint's self-destructive packaging.

Nice post Sap. You are looking value wise at something close to melt on the set. Silver has gone up a lot since these were made so you will do well in that regard. Hopefully you are happy with that should you sell them. Some coin dealers are not akin to buying sets like these are they are not an easy sell. Just keep that in mind.
