Hello, everyone. This quarter weights a bit low at 6,04 grams. And it's pretty circulated coin. Does this still counts as a normal weight? And what is the Weight Tolerance for silver Washington quarters? Many thanks.

Lots of circulation wear. I believe the Mint spec for a new silver quarter 1873 - 1947 was 6.25 grams +/- .097 grams. (I don't remember where I found this) ... but, say 6.153 to 6.347 grams. Factoring in your scale calibration tolerance/accuracy, Mint tolerance, and circulation wear, my opinion is that 6.04 grams is not too far out of tolerance. At the low end: (6.153 - 6.04 = 0.113 grams) = approximately 1.8% underweight (if my information and calculations are correct).

Agree, wear accounts for the loss.

The reverse has so much wear on it, that the rim is just gone.

Agreed, circulation wear accounts for the loss of weight.

Thanks for the additional information Silvio I never knew about the 1934 varieties.
Reading and looking at pictures, seems more like a Medium Motto to my eyes since the middle of the "W" in "WE" is aligned lower and does not line up with the sides of the "W" (as it does in the heavy motto).
But these old eyes and the worn circulated condition of this coin make it tough for me to discern.
So I will defer to your expertise here.
Thank you!

No igwt79 you has the high relief. It's hard to see on very circulated coins, but your it is High (Heavy) . Manny go by WE, but the really markers for is not only WE.
It is a nice coin and relative hard to find. If you ask here how many has 1934 Quarter you will be surprise.
