While I wouldn't say I necessarily collect Spike Heads, I do enjoy finding them. They have been documented and collected for the last 50+ years and so have an important history in the world of error collecting. I think it is also fun to see how these die cracks sometimes progress into larger pre-cuds, Cuds, or RRDC's and so I think it is worthwhile to submit these finds when possible.

Cuds on Coins would list this as an "Unusual Die Cracks on U.S. Cents"

nice die crack but the huge scratch on the reverse and the residue on the obverse ruin the value
