No problem when you have decent ones to share. Many of my Ike photos are edits from what the seller provided.

Here's a thaler from Saxony, 1563. The date is quite worn, but still visible.

Wow, a full thaler? I don't think I've seen a thaler with this much wear before, but maybe I wasn't looking in the right places.

I wonder what was up with that - was it environmental damage, some kind of pocket piece setup, or did it legitimately circulate that much?

Here's a 1562. There aren't too many dated English coins.earlier than this and even fewer milled coins.

Thank you.

Elizabeth I again, 1561. A threehalfpence, designed to give change of halfpence when there weren't any halfpennies.

@january1may: That is an interesting question re: my 1563 worn Saxon thaler. I picked it up at a shop in Berlin about 25 years ago, the worn state being the reason I could afford it! I can only speculate about the wear, though it does look like circulation to me, not environmental. Maybe a lot of worn thalers were melted down while collectors saved the ones in better shape?

Just so that it is clear in my mind, does that mean 1.5 pence?

I've got a Drier (which I believe is equal to 3 Pence) here for today. It was minted in Brandenburg and, as you can see, features the date on both sides of the coin:
