Silver seems to be on a bit of a rebound now, so hopefully that's it for the slide.

As another day comes to a close, still lingering around that $90 line. I anticipate an overnight surge followed by a morning purge.

Not a terribly bad day overall.. Silver still appears to be hanging in. It's as if silver is trying to dodge bullets and walk through a mine field all at once. Every once in awhile it takes a hit, goes down, gets back up and keeps going Today it just retreated back to its $87 cubbie hole and is cautiously re-emerging. Rightfully so to not want to get whacked again, since as we all just mentioned who knows what is coming next.. But it's just been an amazing thing to watch these last few months. Silver has been the underdog for as long as I can remember so it's been so much fun to watch and cheer for it. Don't take my word for it but it really feels like it's determined to go to $100+ again... Now watch me jinx it..

So not bad today - gas went up from $2.55 to $2.63 and the Dow only lost 73. Gold has gone up a little to $5354 and Silver is almost at $92. Better than what the "Doom and Gloomers" were predicting!

It can take about 20 days for a crude oil price increase to be fully reflected in pump prices. 10 to 30 cents in the first week, maybe, that's nothing.
A closure of the straight of Hormuz of 3-4 weeks and global storage capacities start to exhaust. After 2 months, things really start to escalate quickly. Consider that the "nightmare scenario".
*Edit: oil is about $73 barrel, before the war it was in the $60's... Still quite a ways to go to breach the $100++ a barrel stage.

Marv65, the impact of a war, especially in the Middle East, takes time to be reflected in costs, prices, supply chains, instability, etc. The rise in gas prices at this point is price gouging and not a reflection of changing prices in crude oil (too soon). It has been estimated that for each dollar rise in a barrel of crude, it is approximately 2.5 cents in gasoline costs at the pump.
As for precious metals, the instability in the world and the global economy will likely impact gold, silver, etc. as this war progresses. Hold on!

Funny - Saturday everybody is filling up and worried about everything but now today it's "Wait for a few weeks" - make up your minds already! EDIT: And reading back on all your "Predictions" - I don't think any of them have come true yet!

I'm glad I only use 20-25 gallons of gasoline per year. But, I'm aware the price of oil has effects far beyond the pump price. We're all paying a hidden tax (and have been for a century) in the form of taxpayer-funded subsidies to Big Oil, currently at about $30 billion annually, in the USA alone.

Ya gotta love waking up in the morning to find your account bleeding red.
Just like a thief in the night, they sold it below the $86 support level, and now $85 is the ceiling. Just like Monday they sold it below $92 support, before the opening bell, and $91 became the ceiling.
It wouldn't irk me so much if it happened during normal U.S. retail market hours. When there's higher liquidity and buyer's have a fighting chance.

EDIT: And reading back on all your "Predictions" - I don't think any of them have come true yet! @ Marv65 it's okay buddy, anyone can see that you don't clearly understand how any of the markets really work. It's why you have to pay someone else to manage your money right? That's fine, nothing wrong with it, many people are like that.. But it is what it is and I won't judge you on it.. Remember there's always Google, the Internet is chock full of resources that explain these things that are mentioned here. Never too late to start learning. I think you'd enjoy it way more, you know, being able to contribute something useful to the conversation... Sharing your own ideas, your own insights, your own guesses, predictions, whatever... Trust me, it's way more fun than just lurking in the shadows per say, picking and reading too deep into the comments and then popping out and Trolling... Just saying, it's giving off strong "my boomer coworker" vibes.. And you can think whatever you like, we all can. But at the end of the day unless it's paying someones bills, nobody really cares what you think..
