Unfortunately my recovery has been somewhat derailed by a significant infection at the wound site. My elbow was bright red, swollen with puss oozing out of it. The surgeon office has me on an antibiotic. This morning they had me come in 'as soon as possible' and the PA lanced the elbow to remove a lot of infectious material. It was not a comfortable procedure. Worst of all - I'm scheduled for an additional surgery on Monday where the surgeon is going open the wound back up to finish cleaning up the infection. I'm going to need to extend the deadline on my 15K post contest since I don't know what I'm going to be able to do post surgery. Bummer. I'll keep everyone posted.

Quote: I'm going to need to extend the deadline on my 15K post contest That's the last thing you need to be concerned with. Get that infection cleared up so you can continue your recovery.

Resistant, pugnacious infections are not pleasant to deal with. Good luck!

Brief update. I'm home and typing with one finger on my left hand. There is a nerve block on my right arm so the arm is just a dead weight.
The surgeon said the infection went deep into the elbow joint, bad enough that he needed to redo his repair from a month ago
He says he cleaned it all out. He also implanted antibiotic pearls in my elbow before he closed it up.
Bad news is that I'm starting all over again. Even worse is my right elbow needs to remain fully immobilized for 1 month.
I'm able to read posts just fine, but until I can use my right hand fingers typing is a chore. I'll check in as I can
