Cent Lamination Error? - Coin Community Forum

ErrorCoins222 Pillar of the Community United States 1699 Posts	Posted 07/03/2009 12:53 am I only kept this 1983 cent because it had some reverse die cracks but when I examined the obverse later on, I found a spot above Lincoln's shoulder that was 'different'. The only error I can think of is Lamination, and I dont really know much about that. Does anybody know exactly what this is? Thankyou Report this Post to the Staff

hockingzig Pillar of the Community United States 1450 Posts	Posted 07/03/2009 12:59 am It doesn.t look like lamjnation to me. Lamination is more like"peeling" of the metal. Yours looks like a die chip or something along those lines. Report this Post to the Staff

Due to the Die Clashing of the Memorial Building's Columns onto the Obverse of the coin, it appears that Lincoln is in a Jail or Prison Cell. Nice find! Frank Report this Post to the Staff
