Quote: This is taken from COINNEWS.net and they state that it will be an S Dollar But that same website also says that they will be just like the proof coins sold in February and those were P coins so which is right? (I made this same point back on page 2.) Quote: 325,000 proof and 125,000 uncirculated coins were purchased by collectors. Add them up and it equals 450,000, leaving just 50,000 available for the new set since the authorizing Act of Congress mandated a maximum of 500,000 across both options.
This simple statement should rid us of this "rumor" of an "S" mint Lincoln Silver Dollar in this Set........ Why should it? That statement says nothing about where the coins are/were/ made and says nothing about where the last 50,000 coins will be made. There is NOTHING in the statement that would preclude the last 50,000 being struck in San Francisco In the recent past when a product gets cose to sell out they start telling you that your order is on a waiting list. Have they started doing that yet?

I was a little worried since I had my dates messed up and took a day off work to attend a coin show today(paid vacation days for the win ). The show opened at 10am but I knew I would have problems if I waited to order at 11am since I did not want to be driving back from the show in nightmare rush hour traffic. So I took a leap of faith and tried to get to the show when it opened so I could get back home by early afternoon. I logged on to the Mint website at about 3pm, added the C&C to my shopping cart, along with a Silver Proof Set and Mint Set, and checked out with no problems. I guess I am glad I did it later since so many of you had problems. I was a bit worried at first because my order status was "Suspended" and I could not figure out what it meant. About ten minutes later I got the confirmation email and my order status went to "Processed"

I don't know if that is really accurate. I think the order confirmation number is for all sales, not just the C&C sales. So if other people buy other merchandise from the mint and not the C&C set, that will be a confirmation number that doesn't count towards the 50,000 C&C sets available. But you are right, they will be selling out soon.

This information is from the PCGS Forum "Collectors Universe". It is very reliable.

I think you are very safe Coin Guy. Orders over 3320xxxx are iffy.
There's a guy on CU who placed an order at 11:30p.m. ET tonight and got order # 3321xxxx. I think he's gonna be out of luck, but you never know how many cancellations there will be....

If you got an e-mail with a header like this:
Order Receipt-Order #3318XXXX Thursday, October 15, 2009 2:18 From:"USMint-Orders@catalog.usmint.gov"
That is your order confirmation. Shipping confirmation will come later - sometimes MUCH later.

Coin Guy, did you try calling? I got through in the first 5 minutes, but the mint web site never worked for at least an hour and half.
